I work with children and young people aged 3–18 years in my private practice based at Hill View School, Martock, Somerset (outside of school hours). Online sessions may also be available where appropriate and clinically suitable.
Individual psychotherapy is tailored to the unique needs of each child or young person. As an Integrative Child Psychotherapist, I draw upon play, creative arts and talk-based approaches, depending on the individual's age, developmental stage and preferred way of engaging. I am also an EMDR trained therapist and draw on this training to support processing traumatic memories.
Psychotherapy provides a safe and supportive space in which children and young people can explore thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences that may be impacting their emotional wellbeing. The therapeutic process aims to promote regulation, understanding, emotional growth, resilience and lasting positive change.
The assessment process begins with information gathering from parents / carers. This usually includes an initial telephone conversation, completion of an enquiry form, and a parent/carer consultation meeting before direct work with the child or young person begins.
I am also eligible to receive Adoption Support Funding via Adopt South West.
